xHamster Launches Cam Fundraiser with LGBTQ Activists and Sex Workers for Pride Weekend
This Pride Weekend, xHamster is giving back to the communities that built it with a three-day fundraising event for LGBTQ, trans and sex worker charities on its xHamsterLive cam platform.
Throughout the weekend, activists, artists and sex workers will be using the cam shows on xHamsterLive (and Pride partner Stripchat) to raise money for the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, the Sex Workers Outreach Project and Rainbow Railroad.
"Sex workers, particularly trans and gender non-conforming sex workers of color, were on the frontlines at Stonewall," says Alex Hawkins, Vice President of xHamster. "Without them, the adult industry as we know if would not exist. This year, with many Pride marches cancelled, we wanted to bring that spirit online, and find a way to give back."
The xHamsterLive's Pride Cam Fundraiser kicks off on Friday, June 26 at 10AM PT with a live cam conversation and ukelele show from Russian cyberactivist Nika Vodwood (aka Youtube's famed NixelPixel). With over 500K YouTube followers, Vodwood has become one of the country's most vocal defenders of LGTBQ rights, and been featured in Forbes and the New York Times.
Later in the day, sex work activist Siouxsie Q will debut her new talk show, American Sweetheart. Siouxsie, who has centered the stories of LGBTQ leaders such as Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson on her podcast,
Ill Repute!, will treat viewers to a topless history lesson about the sex working heroes of the Stonewall uprising, followed by an anal fisting demonstration with Michael Vegas of PegHim.com at 8PM PT.
The fundraiser will continue through the weekend with special DJ sets, and sessions addressing marketing for sex workers by Alex Lecomte. A proud member of the LGBTQ community, Alex is the Franco-Brazilian businessman specializing in marketing and advertising and spreading love at 7Veils social media.
All tips will be distributed to LGBTQ, trans and sex worker charities, along with donations from xHamster itself.
All Pride cam shows will be viewable on xHamsterLive/Pride_2020. The cam shows will be simulcast on Pride partner Stripchat as well.
